#DarkShadows 601-602
Collinwood's least interesting character, Harry, turns up to try and blackmail people (and deliver lines excruciatingly painfully). Nicholas puts his powers to good use, as do the FX department. And Adam's character growth goes from strength to strength.
#DarkShadows 599-600
So Angelique seemingly bit off more than she could chew, caught mid nibble by a deranged Maggie. It's a superb performance by Joe though. And Julia starts putting things together with only marginally more success than putting Adam together with Eve. Ooops.
#DarkShadows 597-598
Eve of destruction! Though the nature of Eve's body is still baffling as the script suggests she was assembled, but there's zero sign of it. Adam's makeup is particularly vivid which doesn't help. And the words "evil incarnate" are followed by David's return.
#DarkShadows 595-596
Adam seems to have found himself his first one night stand, and a rather glamorous one to boot! Careful restaging of the cliffhanger is needed though! I did like her cover story. And play spot the breathing body before DS gets a new face in the cast.
#DarkShadows 594-595
It's the 60s, so naturally Julia carries a huge supply of drugs for all occasions and casually hands them out. For once, the disappearing body doesn't vanish from a coffin. You can't cross hypnotism off the bingo card either. Obvious cliffhanger too.
#DarkShadows 591-592
Just how bandages are supposed to keep the body scar free is a mystery, as I was under the impression it was a mix and match "corpse" again. It also makes me wonder how many bodies make up Adam and mate! And yet another huge recap of an experiment scene.
#DarkShadows 589-590
Tip: when having a character hammer in desperation on a stone wall... please try and redub it so it doesn't sound like wood. Speaking of change, Barnabas goes the other way on Adam, Caroline needs a change of scene and a new hypnotist is going to be needed.
#DarkShadows 587-588
Adam remembers when Barnabas controlled Willie but is surprised to learn that Barnabas was originally going to dominate Adam's body. Nicholas says he can see part of Barnabas in Adam before putting his gaze on Caroline. Maggie can finally see into her past.
#DarkShadows 585-586
Julia persuades Barnabas not to shoot. Instead, he plans to beat Adam off. Roger tells Victoria that Elizabeth is still going both ways, and the cameras seem to go all over the place. And Nicolas decides that "truth" can go anywhere he wants it to go.
#DarkShadows 583-584
Barnabas has problems with Willie (and lines) and then gets tactless with Maggie. Victoria struggles to get David off, a nice reminder that there's a reason she's still at Collinwood. And it seems there is only one hiding place in the whole of Collinsport.
#DarkShadows 581-582
I'm confused! Angelique is clearly supposed to be a vampire. She bites Jeff, but does that make Jeff one as confusingly the director goes out of their way to show they both have reflections? Proper Caroline has a great scene with Adam making up for it tho.
#DarkShadows 579-580
Julia catches Jeff at it, and Victoria doesn't want to be at it with Jeff. Barnabas is sure Willy will catch Nicholas at it because no one else is doing it, and the camera man is a tit. More pertinently though, can't someone just put a love spell on Caroline?
#DarkShadows 577-578
Elizabeth has a nightmare and, for once, it's not related to remembering her lines. Caroline drops in on an amateur psychologist, Adam is whole new levels of creepy and Tony takes on a strange new case. And oh dear god the stand-in... new levels of bad!
#DarkShadows 575-576
The opening with Nicholas and Angelique acts as a huge infodump/plot reminder, Professor Stokes finally fills in a hole in the plot, Jeff fills in Adam's family tree and the camera man has a nightmare. At least Roger keeps the show's foot in soap territory.
#DarkShadows 573-574
Joe really does play the opening scenes well (he's acting the affliction like drug withdrawal which is very effective!), Nicholas bites his tongue over a visitor, Angelique wants same day delivery and once again the storm is loud, light... and totally dry.
#DarkShadows 571-572
There's a wobbly pillar but dang, the opening of these two episodes is superbly acted, structured and directed with the mirror shot being especially well done. Barnabas is now full on vampire hunter hero and we get a DS staple... a vanishing coffin. Sublime.
#DarkShadows 369-370
The opening voice tries its best to remind us of Elizabeth, and even the huge info dump in the foyer feels a little forced. And when Roger talks about others being attacked in the woods... he almost sounds jealous! And there are cameras and shadows galore.
#DarkShadows 567-568
The return of Adam and, as soon as he sees locals, he knocks one out. Barnabas wants to know who's been necking Julia and is given a 4 week deadline... so about 800 episodes?
Jeff finally puts two and two together and we get a reminder that Liz still exists.
