Artist Mir Kalan Khan, like many other Mughal artists, worked in a style that appears quite electic. The young, indecisive couple who appear #Persian is being entertained by a more down to earth #Indian female musician.
The trees look #European, in a strange yellow background.
Nevertheless, the artist has managed to create a lively painting using Birds & Animals.

Artist #NidhaMal was a well known artist at the court of #Mughal Emperor #MuhammadShah #Rangila (1717-48) at #Delhi.
After the death of Rangila, he was not favoured by the new #Mughal Emperor #Aurengzeb. So, he left for #Lucknow where, in c1750 he painted this... an Unknown Prince exchanging gifts with a darker skinned Emissary.
Painting now in #DavidCollection, #Copenhagen, #Denmark.
