In the end, the man's obsession with Hitler was his downfall. His wife, who had always been afraid of dying, finally found the strength to leave him. And their son, who had once gone on a 5-hour crying jag, grew up to be a strong and compassionate young man. As the man sat alone in his empty house, surrounded by his Nazi memorabilia, he realized that he had lost everything that mattered to him. He was consumed by regret and sorrow, and he knew that he would never be able to regain what he had lost. The man's life was a tragic reminder of the dangers of obsession and the importance of family. (Obviously, this is no #WhiteNoise by #DeLillo)
