#DeadToMe s3e10 (2022) - 7/10

1️⃣ The final episode puts the focus almost exclusively on the two main characters. There’s not much story, and very few chuckles. It’s all about the friendship, and the emotions.

2️⃣ I was wrong about the endgame. I thought Judy would end up raising Jen’s baby, with Jen either dead (from a hit-and-run) or in prison (for, you know, murder and stuff).

1️⃣ This episode is full of story developments; twists and turns. It all seems chaotic but it’s certainly not dull.

2️⃣ I’ve been sure of the endgame for a few episodes, but this chapter made me think that I might be wrong. Which is a good thing.

More of the same.

🔲 There are a few (minor) chuckles and a few (minor) story developments. It works to the degree that it works because we are invested in Jen and Judy, but it feels like this needs to be over.

#DeadToMe s3e7 (2022) - 7/10

🔲 #LindaCardellini and #ChristinaApplegate do some stellar work here. But it really feels like they are carrying the show now. The scripts seem stuck in a rut. All the Perez-Prager scenes are the same in every episode. And with the pregnancy, it feels like we can all guess the endgame now.

Episodes 2 and 3 had good moments but understandably didn't hit as strongly as episode 1.

Other than the unnecessary "twist" that led to a hidden truth (should've been more naturally and believably done as a reaction to the bird diss), episode 4 has the show hitting its stride, it seems.

Ok. I initially avoided #DeadToMe on #Netflix because the description and trailer made it seem to be just another white wine mom show.

Then months later I read a recommendation that said it was really well done, so I added it to my queue.

Another several months later I've just finished episode one, and that recommendation was spot on.

Do yourself a favor and watch it if you can, if you enjoy well-written, and well-acted, entertainment for adults.

So, no spoilers, but Dead to Me on Netflix has me on the one hand completely checked out of the plot. It's just absolute nonsense.

But at the same time Christina Applegate, Linda Cardellini, and James Marsden are absolutely amazing in it. The acting is a clinic, the line reads are incredible, the non-verbals say so much. The little moments in the show are so heartfelt and hilarious.

I'm so confused!

Finished #DeadToMe on #Netflix last night. I enjoyed all three seasons but the final season was especially poignant considering Christina Applegate's health challenges.
