#DeathNote vol. 11-12: A very good series overall, but with flaws. It suffers from have a lot of monologues and large amounts of exposition. And there is a fair amount of casual sexism towards the few female characters in the story.

But the overall plot and exploration of what this kind of power could do to someone is very good. I loved the final confrontation and how it all goes down. I think a few characters got kinda short changed though, just a little.

#DeathNote vol. 9-10: The interplay between Light, Mello and Near is excellent, creating great tension. I love how Light’s team starts to take note of inconsistencies after having their eyes opened by N. Light’s grasp for more power helps the story ramp up towards its conclusion.

Misa’s role in the story is under developed and there is a fair amount of casual sexism regarding her character. Implications that because she likes “girly” things, that she clearly lacks intelligence.

#DeathNote 7-8: I kinda remembered the events of this volume form the anime, and thinking that the death of L was a mistake but now it feels more like a raising of the stakes.

I enjoy seeing how Light becomes his own worst enemy, without L there to challenge him, his arrogance takes over and he makes one bad decision after another.

The introduction of N and M is better than I remember, and creates a delicate balancing act between them and Light.

I finished the #DeathNote #anime last night and now I’m going to jump into reading the #manga. I realize this is a large undertaking haha but the anime was so good!

Just finished watching #DeathNote. Absolutely brilliant #anime and the ending was very satisfying.

What I like is that that during the break (bumper? not sure what it's called), they showed this message: "All humans will, without exception, eventually die" And then they said this: (see pic)

I absolutely believe this. No heaven / hell BS. It's just nothing. After my cardiac arrest, I'm positive this is what happens. Basically, nothing you do in life will matter to you when you die.

Actually, I think shooting a blank that close to someone would seriously injure him. #deathnote #anime
