Finished my 2nd book of the year, 61 hours by Lee Child. Good read but I predicted the plot-twist well in advance.

@stephen interesting!- my kids have just had a mini whodunnit season starting with #knivesout , then they slid into the inferior modern #murderontheorientexpress and #DeathOnTheNile because they were more familiar with the actors and the modern production values were more palatable to them, culminating with a viewing of #theglassonion last night- maybe I can tempt them in watching the 70s and 80s versions now that their interest has been stoked!

Vague #review: #DeathOnTheNile (2022) is at time a sublimely beautiful visual feast, and quite interestingly reinterpreted. But in the other bowl of the scales, it is littered with sociocultural anachronisms, and outbursts more suitable for a theatre stage, so all in all it is partially quite annoying. Sort of like doing a 5 hour production of Hamlet with the cast and set designs of The Bold and the Beautiful.

Also, the casting totally revealed the murderer when s/he appeared on screen
