#Defaidodon Some say "NEVER befriend a ram" .. I say "Well if you do you'll become his BEST friend he CAN'T stay without you ! ( also occasionally his punching bag ) I spent the last 40 mins with Skippy resting/pushing his head on my shoulder while giving him skritches and cuddles and I could NOT stop a second or the hoof was waving asking for more 😄 Something some people will never know, how MUCH a ram wants his cuddles ! I think "something clicks" and brings them to "lamb cuddles level" .

Let's have a #WoollyWednesday with these #Defaidodon that I saw when down in Dorset for a weekend of spinning and fibre-related fun some years ago. These are ryeland sheep, which I think of as a cross between a teddy bear and a tank.

#Defaidodon There's the SUN ! And it's WARM ! And I am in a green field with flowers, the birds are singing, the sky is blue, I am hugging and cuddling a big ram that can't get enough and doesn't want me to leave snuggling in my arms ( Skippy ) .. This is "beyond peace" .. it's "pure happiness" and I am thinking "no matter what, I have/had this moment". I am thinking at all those searching for happiness and maybe never found it, but I have it here, now, with a sheep ! Om !

#Defaidodon I said it, I'll say it again "sheep need infinite cuddles" ( or at least Skippy does ). I go out I look at him no more than 3 seconds here he comes with "that walk" suddenly there's a 300 or so pounds ram pressing his head on my shoulder and waving a hoof. If I am not quick enough to respond I may be flying across the field but I know what he wants. Seconds later all I hear is grunting noises and a sheep nibbling the air. He'd spend hours like that with me skritching his breast.

Not everyone wants to stay in the sun.

#Defaidodon It still amazes me "how MANY cuddles a sheep need" ( infinite according to our boys ). Imagine wake up every morning , have a cup of tea, go in the field and being really surrounded/pushed/compressed between a "mass of wool" asking for cuddles/attentions/ALL the time ! Such is our life here 😄 Skippy is "an ultra attention seeker" but all the other boys are too. Today the weather is incredibly good, everyone seems much happier even the donkey ! We gave them a bit of extra food.
