What rewards racism and keeps it going? Many things. Political gain by appealing to popularism. Economic gain by paying lower wages to less valued demographics. Social gain by forming toxic bonds with like-minded others. Psychological gain by using racism as a perverted form of self-care. Etc.

Coordinated action on all levels is necessary to deal with systemic racism.
