ein bisschen kontext: eine nachhilfeschülerin, 17, hat legasthenie, bei der beurteilung wird das aber nicht berücksichtigt, weil die schule findet, sie ist zu alt dafür. (ich weiß selber, dass es scheise ist, und weder die eltern noch ich können gerade etwas dagegen machen. kommentare hierzu müssen also nicht sein.)

ich bin selbst noch studi, und habe keine weitere ausbildung in sachen legasthenie. ein bisschen hineingelesen hab ich mich natürlich.

I've only read "Frauen*" in few German texts, with different meanings each. I found different explanations for different instances, but none of the bellow explanation attempts makes sense.

1. star = include trans women. This is just outright transmisic, since trans women are women, not some kind of "woman-with-footnote"!
2. Frau* = include everyone who's affected by hetero-cis-normative patriarchy (including cis and trans woman, non-binary people, and trans men). However, calling e.g. trans men "Frau*" seems to be transmisic. We have the word FLINTA to include all these good people.
3. star = reminder that "man" and "woman" are social constructs. Thus, "people" could be called "Männer*" and "Frauen* und nicht-binäre* Personen". This doesn't make much sense to me, because there are a lot of other social constructs for that we don't attach an asterisk to the word.
4. star = hack to make "Männer und Frauen*" (seemingly) gender-inclusive. Again, I think it doesn't make sense to include e.g. non-binary people under the category "Frauen*".

In each of the cases, I would have used a better alternative, such as FLINTA or just "Frauen" without stars and footnotes.
