Wondering if there's any #jest #devs out here who have tactics for reducing CI test run times?

I have an E2E test suite that takes 24-30mins across all shards and since it's E2E I can't really run the ones tied to commit changes using static analysis since the files under test aren't directly imported in the suite.

I'm considering using coverage stats to figure out which tests to run for a given commit but curious about prior art 🤔 🎨 ❓

There is a simple database server available that I can't for the life of me remember the name of, it is designed to take 1-2 values per table, as well as the timestamp, so you can easily monitor the value and graph it easily.. Can anyone remind me of the name of this server?

Hi! A question for people who work in software.
After years of work as a writer I find myself in need of a side hustle. I’m considering taking a coding bootcamp and finding part time work in 2023.
Are these camps worth it? How is the job market? Will my age (early 50s) work against me? Are there coding-adjacent positions where my existing skillset as a writer would be an asset?
It’s baffling and daunting. Any tips would be great!

A) Stop truncating a password input after a certain length WITHOUT providing feedback that you're doing so*

B) Stop disallowing paste in password input fields

* Back-end devs/admins how about we upgrade whatever back-end system/process is requiring a length limitation on the password too IF one even exists

What do you do? I rely on source control for project files, but for everything else (Blender, Substance, Photoshop etc.) I don't have a *good* system.

How long do you keep everything for? Do you have a grace period for client work and eventually purge it? Do you auto backup? What are your cloud and/or local solutions? Do you have a process in place for stripping down finished projects to only keep the final iterations of files?
