Been having conversations about #digitalArchives and #digitalAfterlife with my family, and it seems like most people aren’t acquainted with the idea of museums deaccessing (removing) items from their collection. Collections can’t grow forever and still have each work get public access, should go to homes which can give attention. And more and more, people are realizing works weren’t legitimately acquired (cf #native works) and should be be returned to their homes.

@RMTownsend I'm trying to brainstorm ways to give the #public greater access to #PrimarySources with #DigitalArchives and #exhibits. Instead of promoting a narrative, I'd like to invite the public to interpret the sources for themselves. Though, it's not so easy to implement.
