Had a lovely dinner at Onslow last night. I had:

- Heirloom Tomato Salad Cabernet Sauvignon Dressing, Basil, Sourdough
- Cambridge Duck Breast Mushroom Marmalade, Preserved Cherry, Radicchio
- shared sides incl. Brussels Sprout Gratin Parmesan, Spinach Cream.

Why must Beef Hofan be always swimming in grease, I wonder? We tried David's Tea House's version and it's good. My favorite part of the dish is not the beef slices nor the hofan noodles but the bean sprouts 😂

If you should find yourself an hour north of Victoria, BC, in the town of Duncan, I highly recommend Brunch on 3rd for their wonderful breakfasts. Service is fast and friendly, more refills than you can count. The bacon is insane artisanal stuff cured locally.
Apparently their “banana bread French toast” is enormously popular. They also do a duck confit eggs Benny.
