@NationCymru Such a shame they let it go like this. The café was always very nice and the shop very popular with tourists. I miss it. It's also a great shame they stopped doing the excellent tours of the power station from there. They were fascinating for anyone with even a hint of interest in engineering. @dmoser I've been inside the pumped storage station at #Dinorwig near #Llanberis, #Wales several times and seen the huge valves and turbines running close-up. It's actually built inside the mountain of Elidir Fawr. Water flows down through the mountain from the Marchlyn Mawr reservoir at the top to Llyn Peris below. It has the unique ability to kick-start the UK's National grid in the event of a total blackout. Tours are not running at the moment but are well worth doing if they start again.
