For a lot of people the word correct can have a negative connotation. Many have been corrected in the wrong way, therefore, associating correction with punishment, being yelled at, belittled or embarrassed. ⁠

Correction has everything to do with teaching and should always involve not just telling a person where they are amiss in their way of thinking and living, but teaching them through the Word of God in order to change their way of thinking and bring about a change in life. ⁠

What is the Law?

In the Old Testament, Moses was given the Law on Mount Sinai to give to the people that he was leading to the Promised Land. When we think of natural laws, we think of a list of rules we must obey and follow; this may lead us to think this Law given by God is a list of dos and don'ts, but in reality, it is much more than that.
The word for Law in Hebrew translates to “Torah” and it means ‘instruction’ and ‘teaching: the direction one is to take in life. This shows that the Law/Torah is really instructions from God on how He wants His people to live. Jesus Himself said He did not come to do away or get rid of the Law but to fulfill it (Mat 5:17).
