Pascal Wehrlein takes a win that was a result of hard charging and a Porsche powertrain that just does not lose energy at the same rate as the other units. Jake Dennis was able to charge through the field to second with the same equipment, showing how dominant it is right now. Sam Bird third, from Buemi, Rast, and Cassidy.

I can’t understand getting excited about a #FormulaE Qualifying Result any more. The Duels format effectively makes the grid a lottery for most of the drivers. I can’t even be bother watching the Qualifying any more, the format is super dull. Just find myself skipping everything but the races as a result #FIAFormulaE #DiriyahEPrix #ABBFormulaE

This weekend #ABBFormulaE has the emergency break, a hotfix they'd been working on since it became apparent the regen braking on the front wheels couldn't be 100% guaranteed.

There will be penalties for anyone viewed as misusing the emergency brake (using it to gain an advantage).

Qualifying for race one of the #DiriyahEPrix was topped by Sebastien Buemi from Jake Hughes, who was once again excellent in the McLaren. Sam Bird lines up third, but the story of the day was Dan Ticktum taking fourth on the grid for NIO 333! #ABBFORMULAE
