I’m still in a state of disbelief but last Saturday, Talia C. Johnson and I won a 2023 Prix Aurora Award in the Best Related Work category for our disablity fiction anthology, Nothing Without Us Too. And it was a tie, so we were twinners with the lovely Shannon Allen and JR Campbell for their anthology, The Astronaut Always Rings Twice!

I went to The Spaniel’s Tale bookstore in Ottawa and found the anthology I co-edited, Nothing Without Us Too, on the same table as The Light We Carry by Michelle Obama, and squeed! It’s an incredible honour and also the closest I’ll probably ever be to her! (I love her. She’s so awesome.) So, that was a cool thing. #DisabilityFiction #CripLit #DisabledAuthors #CanLit
