UC Davis employees operating these carts frequently park them blocking the entrance and/or sidewalk in front of student housing. I guess UC Davis feels it won't admit many students with visual disabilities or who use mobility aids?

Ich stand zwar ein bisschen verloren vor der riesigen Auswahl, aber mit der Unterstützung meiner Assistentin und meiner Mutter wurde ein passender BH gefunden.

Ohne diesen Support wäre ich heute übrigens nicht an diesem Punkt.

Meine Behinderung und mein Queersein in einem erfüllten Leben vereinen, und sich auf diese Unterstützung verlassen zu können, ist ein unglaubliches Glück und ein Privileg. Dessen bin ich mir in jedem Augenblick bewusst.

Anxiety disorders are actually really really debilitating. It's awful to spend months or years of your life in fear of things that no one else is afraid of. Or you entire life in my case. I've learned to try to have fear coexist with happiness or joy but it is really hard. If I didn't try I would never enjoy anything. The anxiety isn't going to stop, so what choice is there.

I get very frustrated when people claim that anxiety is not a disability or included in neurodivergence. My anxiety has only even meant I was pushed further out of society, never included. I feel just as excluded from society for being autistic as I do for having anxiety disorders. It's the same fight for me.

That's my experience at least.

Posting this really just as an example of a video that's a bit more accessible - it has open captions and ASL interpretation and visual descriptions of the speakers.

However, the UC Access Now position has been that characterizing the meeting of one's access needs as "extra" plays into ableism's hands. Just because ableists purposefully neglect to budget and plan for accessibility doesn't make it "extra".

We also only use "accommodations" to refer to the disability rationing & policing process as it has the connotation of inaccessibility being a desired norm & centers abled convenience.

Ouch 🤕 at the selfie of prominent disability activists being at an ADA event unmasked. How can you be at an event where the entire purpose is about making places accessible to all disabled people, when you immediately exclude COVID high risk people?

"It was a reunion of friends, celebration, and recommitment to the work that need to be done."

Saying you are recommitting to the work of accessibility, while being unmasked at an ADA event that required masks, is shameful. How are they not ashamed?

This pandemic has truly showed the worst of people's solidarity.
