Access to clean drinking water has long been considered an essential part of living in modern society. Yet, in many parts of America, people need to boil or purchase drinkable water (e.g., Flint, MI; Jackson, MS; Houston, TX).

This situation is directly linked to the #disinvestment in communities that were impacted by #whiteflight, the #deregulation of the private sector, and the #privatization of the public sector. It disproportionately harms low-income and minority communities and is a systemic byproduct of public and private sector policies that have promoted #EnvironmentalRacism
