My housemate Alex has Down Syndrome and often comes up with interesting alternate pronunciations for things. The other day he asked me what kind of rock music I like, and the first band that popped into my head was Heart. He asked me what they played, so I pulled up a song on my phone and played it for him. As soon as it started he said, "Oh yeah! Annacoonda!" He was close. It was Barracuda.

This was a year. I became a #dad this year, on the very last day of my 30s, and this year I found out that my baby boy has #Downsyndrome . I learned and grew and stretched so much as a husband and a man, and in many ways I wish I didnt have to do so.

At the end of it all, I would not trade a day of it, and it is truly well with my soul.

Need some advice. We have a new #baby with #Downsyndrome who is usually super chill. But now he will not let us put him down, he starts crying immediately, even from a full sleep and does not stop. I know there is no such thing as holding a baby too much, but the wife cant even put him down for naps or for her to go to the bathroom or shower without crying. Any advice from the #Mom and #Dad who went through this?

I've seen groups heading over to The Mastadon Herd - autism advocates, LGBTQ+, POC, etc. I just want to add in my two cents that my baby kiddo has #Downsyndrome and my wife and I are still working through what that means. Glad that groups that may have felt left out are finding a home here, and wanted to shout out to all the parents or people living with Down Syndrome.
