Sony really shouldn't have gone with black for the trackpad, D-Pad, face buttons and the face plate on the #DualSense Edge. Especially the face plate, the glossy plastic looks cheap. The standard DualSense looks more premium.

Hi! I'm interested in making PC games with #DualSense support work on linux with #Proton!

I have managed to do so for a few games (FF XIV Online, FF7R, and Deathloop with some caveats, to name a few), but each game does things a little differently, and I have a few I can't manage to get to work as expected (Death Stranding Director's Cut, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, Marvel's Spider-man Remastered)

I am unaffiliated with Sony, Valve, CodeWeavers or anyone directly involved in those games or Wine/Proton, and I do that in my limited spare time.

Therefore, it would be extremely useful if someone from those game companies could share what Windows APIs those games use to find and open the DualSense's audio output for haptics!

since it took me far too much time to get reliable information on this, if you want to play #Stray with a #Dualsense with the #Steam version, you won't get any of the haptics features!

those aren't implemented yet and the devs don't have any plan for it.

but they have stated they'd like to do it if they get the time

anyway, a shot in the dark: do you work at #Sony Interactive Entertainment or #Audiokinetic? can you publicly share some information about how the #DualSense support lib / #Wwise integration detect and chose the appropriate audio device for the speaker and VCM-based haptic feedback?

i'm curious if anyone has ever managed to get #DualSense haptics feedback to work in a game supporting it on #Linux through #Proton

(i mean, actual DualSense haptics feedback support, not routing arbitrary audio to the audio device)
