Some impressions from yesterday's #gravel charity ride organized by #Tortour: At 12°C and with all the sunshine, it was a pleasure to log some miles aboard my Roadlab PanacheTi. With my 35mm tires, I was at the lower end of the spectrum. Great how gravel injects more #diversity into the world of road biking! #Duebendorf2020 #cycling

First gusts of hard wind have thrown over the barricades on the finish straight at #Duebendorf2020. Good thing that this only happens after the women's race is done - and well before tomorrow's races. Plenty of time to either secure those barriers or take the advertisement banners off. Safety first, folks! #cyclocross
And the World championship title is for Ceylin Alvarado who finally beats Annemarie Worst in a sprint. A deserved win after the drama at Worldcup finals. What a show from the Dutch riders at #Duebendorf2020. Pure suspense in this nail-biter. Lucinda Brand 3rd at 10secs, Katie Compton 4th at 1min and Yara Kastelijn at 1min26 in 5th. Evie Richards comes in in 6th at 1min44. 7th for Eva Lechner at 2min25. Van Loy in 8th, Verdonschot in 9th and Petit in 10th. Sanne Cant 12th at 3min32. #cyclocross
The three Dutch leaders are going into the final lap of the women's #cyclocross Worlds in #Duebendorf2020, with Worst and Alvarado having a slight advantage over Brand again: 5secs it is this time. Can she get back one more time on that final lap?
The Swiss TV producer of #SRF really is not familiar with #cyclocross: Just when Worst and Brand sprint all out to get to a step-down corner first, he switches to a camera that shows Compton riding on a straight on her own - this is not how it's supposed to be done. #Duebendorf2020
#srf #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
As Worst and Alvarado don't trust each other and don't want to take the lead, Brand is getting back to them - this could be something they might regret later on as Brand is a strong sprinter. And the three Dutch riders are back together. #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
This could be an early decision for the Bronze medal: Brand goes into the pits to change bike, Alvarado and Worst don't - and they have a gap of 12secs. The reason for the bike change was a broken saddle, not the need for grippier tires. In the men's under23 race, we've already seen a broken frame. #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
Seeing three Dutch women lead the #cyclocross Word champs race in #Duebendorf2020 is not surprising: We've seen them dominate the sport all season. Compton is riding a brave race as best of the rest. Meanwhile it has started to rain in Duebendorf - this could lead to some extra suspense due to bike changes to get grippier tires.
Sanne Cant is already a full minute back before the end of the second lap. I would not be surprised to see her step out of the race. Compton looking good in the fight for 4th, but that's behind the leading duo of Alvarado and Worst and the frst chaser Brand. The race distance will be five laps, and at the end of the second lap, Alvarado, Brand and Worst are back together. #Duebendorf2020 #cyclocross
While Kastelijn is losing positions, Compton has gone past her into 4th. Evie Richards following in 6th while Cant is nowhere to be seen. We will see a new women's World champion after three years, then. Up front Alvarado has accelerated and created a small gap over Worst and a bigger gap over Brand. #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
First lap done - and four Dutch riders cross the line shoulder to shoulder. Van Loy at 15secs in 5th, then Richards, Compton, Verdonschot at 25secs and Cant t more than 30secs behind. This race has been shaped early and with a vengeance. Orange power! #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
Sanne Cant's strategy was to stay in the wheels of the Dutch armada and to profit from team-internal rivalry, just as she did in Bogense one year ago. The bad news for her is that the Dutch riders have started a team time trial and she's unlikely to ever get back to them. Cant at the moment is the third and last Belgian rider in the race... Looks like Belgium will face a disastrous first day at the Worlds with no medals. #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
Bad news for American champion Clara Honsinger: An early mechanical issue forces her to run to the pits - that's a long run! Meanwhile Rochette has dropped back and we have four Dutch riders in the lead. There we have our open Dutch championships at the women's #cyclocross World champs race... #Duebendorf2020
The women's #cyclocross World champs race has started, and the holeshot was for Ceylin Alvarado ahead of Lucinda Brand. Worst, Kastelijn and Rochette form the top5 for now, Cant a bot further back in 10th. #Duebendorf2020
In the women's race, it will be interesting to see if defending World champion Sanne Cant or American veteran Katie Compton can thwart the plans of the Dutch. The course looks ideal for Lucinda Brand. Annemarie Worst and Ceylin Alvarado are top contenders for medals as well. Kastelijn looked to be a bit over her best form recently, but she's got plenty of power for this course as well. Favourites for #Duebendorf2020:
*** Brand
** Worst, Alvarado
* Kastelijn, Cant, Compton

The first eleven riders in the men's under23 #cyclocross World champs race were separated by almost 3mins - the flat course in #Duebendorf clearly is treacherous and power-sapping. And once the rain sets in, tomorrow's races will be battles of attrition. The next race is less than one hour away as the women start at 3pm. Can anyone keep the Dutch riders from dominating the first day of racing at #Duebendorf2020?

Dutchman Ryan Kamp goes into the final lap of the men's under23 #cyclocross World championships with a lead of 14secs over Kevin Kuhn. Mees Hendrikx at 37secs in 3rd and Antoine Benoist in 4th at 43secs. #Duebendorf2020
With two laps to go in the men's #under23 race, Kamp has 6secs over Kuhn and 17secs over Benoist who is riding with Hendrikx now in a battle for Bronze. #Duebendorf2020 “cyclocross
Ryan Kamp does not lose any time: The designated captain of the Dutch team attacks early on in the fourth lap, forcing Benoist and Kuhn to chase. The group is exploding - looks like it's every rider on his own from here, and the time gaps are still small. #cyclocross #Duebendorf2020
