#Succession vs. #Scotland 2/2: steel billionaire Andrew Carnegie came from #Dunfermline, near #Dundee, and gave away most of his fortune. Then there is Scots-Canadian media mogul Roy Thomson, who moved to the UK, started STV & bought The Times & many other UK papers, becoming 1st Baron Thomson of Fleet. (He also had a tartan created, which I use.) The succession of his son Kenneth as chairman was smooth, as it was with his son David: now chairman of Thomson #Reuters & the richest Canadian.

This is #Dunfermline in #Fife and the tomb of #RobertTheBruce - minus his heart (he had requested his heart be taken to the holy land and it is now in Melrose). I am one of the many thousands of his direct descendants. His daughter Marjory is my 19th great grandmother.
