FWIW, here is where I currently stand on upcoming municipal elections in #DurhamNC:

I think Leo Williams is the best candidate for Mayor; specifically I think he has the best chance build consensus on a Council that is embarrassingly dysfunctional, presently.

Caballero is doing a fine job and I will vote to re-elect her.

Karim, Rist, and Baker would all make good additions to the Council. I do not know which two I will vote for, yet.

Not interested in arguing about any of this.

Not only does Sidney Powell still look batchit crazy, but also she was born in Durham, lived in Raleigh, and went to UNC-CH for both undergrad and law school. Add her to the area list of shame. #DurhamNC

I really wish the new development proposals (the ones being currently being kicked down the road by the Durham City Council) hadn't been named SCAD: SCAD is an art school in Savannah, & it's confusing. :) We have family in Savannah, & I know people who went to SCAD, so I'm not typical. I had the opportunity to assist in running a huge #MagicTheGathering tournament in #DurhamNC over the weekend.

I didn't know what to expect, but what I experienced was nothing short of freeing and open!

Most of the people I talked to were nice and wonderful.

As I was working with @extraliferdu collecting donations, so many people were donating to support the cause and a few donated their winnings to help sick and injured kids in the community!

Also, the #LGBTQIAPlus representation was amazing! It felt like the safest place to be given this is North Carolina!

I can't wait to do something like that again!

Sooner or later, Durham's mayor needs to stop saying she's still learning or doesn't know: “I’m still learning, & I am still very much conscious that... this is something different. This is something new, & it’s coming in packaged different.” She's already on the way out, but City Council members have used the same excuse. They need to stop. They're elected (& paid a little, right?) to know & vote.
