@womencomposers @classicalmusic @EdwardPhilips @magdelenehall Wow, there’s actually a #DutchComposer on it as well ❤️
Today it’s orchestra rehearsals. One of the former conductors of our #AmateurOrchestra was #DutchComposer Jan Felderhof (1907-2006). He had a great sense of humour. Like many #DutchComposers of his time, he was influenced by French music. Listen to his Flute Concerto

Good morning everyone, today I am on my way to the #NetherlandsMusicInstitute to look at the correspondence of #DutchComposer Henri Zagwijn, who was chair of the Society of #DutchComposers
Here’s a sample of his music, which is as new to me as it probably will be to you!

Today’s #DutchComposer is Jan van Gilse. He was fiercely anti-Nazi, blacklisted early on, and left Berlin in 1933. He took ill in hiding and was taken to hospital and buried under a false name in 1944.

Today's #DutchComposer is Johanna Bordewijk-Roepman. This afternoon in Rotterdam (De Doelen, 1:30 PM) there is a concert with her choir music. I love these nursery rhymes on texts by AA Milne sang by Irene Maessen with Marcel Worms at the piano. From the CD 'From the bottom of my heart'
