@gruber is there some sort of #ios permission/setting we can use to disallow apps from stupidly using the #dynamicisland?

I mean, Stride - an app I use all day long as a #rideshare driver to record mileage - sticks it's stupid self-made-location-arrow icon in it even though when it's in use iOS already puts up the "location arrow" at the top of my iPhone...

It takes up valuable space up there!

I don't need to know you are tracking my location (by you putting a blue arrow in the dynamic island)! Apple does that already by putting a white arrow to the right of the clock!

When you do that, the signal meter on my phone takes away 5Guc icon - which I need MORE when I'm driving!

Stop the madness!

ps: Apple should let us disallow apps from D.I.! WHY isn't that a permission?

When using a wireless keyboard the Dynamic Island will grab its focus whilst music is playing. Rendering the keyboard useless. Very annoying.

#iPhone #DynamicIsland with #sports, The Sports Alert app now supports live activity for you to track sports #games with the Dynamic Island. Go to the Games tab and double tap on the game you want to #track. On the game screen, swipe to and choose the More button. In the pop up menu, just choose #LiveActivity to start tracking the game on your Dynamic Island. It just list the score, but if you flick up and choose expand, then you will get more information. Very cool to have the score of your game right on your #HomeScreen so you can do other things at the same time. #Apple #DynamicIsland #GoodJob

Live in flight tracking in the #iPhone14Pro #DynamicIsland in #Flighty app is totally cool! Most flights now include free #iOS messaging over Wi-Fi and these updates work through that channel. Definitely worth buying Flighty Pro!

On phone calls, the #iPhone14 #DynamicIsland has a live, accurate audio.. display? wave frame? for each party talking. My brother is green on the left, I’m orange on the right.
