EMA approved the first ever #malaria #vaccine under the #EUM4All programme a few years ago. Its recent introduction in some of the most affected regions of #Africa is already helping to save many children’s lives.

Most of the medicines assessed by EMA are used within the 🇪🇺, but some are for patients beyond Europe, under a programme called #EUM4all.

This has a big impact on #globalhealth 🌍 as more people have access to sometimes life-saving treatments.

In 2022, we approved a new #dengue #vaccine to be used in the European Union and in low-and middle-income countries #LMIC.

The #CHMP has recommended authorising a new vaccine 💉 to protect people from 4 years in the 🇪🇺 and 🌍 against the #dengue disease.
This is the 1st time EMA simultaneously reviews a medicine meant for EU and non-EU countries, under the #EUM4all programme

The #CHMP recommends 2 diabetes treatments for use outside the 🇪🇺.

They were submitted to EMA under a procedure called #EUM4All that allows us to assess medicines for countries with limited regulatory resources. 🌍💊
