"Ops, we are so so sorry, we completely forgot about your programme" 🤯 [no problem, I can wait for the next event, in 2036... 😡 ]
Then, I got another email from my US colleague observing with #EXPRES. The email title was "heartbreaking news from Lowell..."

#Weather in #Arizona looks perfect for the #transit night ... but the #KittPeak #observatory was hit by a serious #contreras #fire in June and the #telescope is down since then. Fortunately, the #firefighters saved the observatory and the staff are working hard. The instrument is expected to be back on sky on Nov. 11, hence ONE DAY before the transit. We still don't know what will be the instrumental stability. #AstronomerLife
