A couple years ago I was hit with the news that I had diabetes. A rare blend of Type A and Type B (it’s in my lineage). I’m a vegetarian and mostly vegan. But I really love sugar and whiskey. That did me in.
After three months of veganism, no sugar, and minimal carb-heavy foods, my blood sugar levels dropped to a near-normal level. (I even dropped 30 lbs on route.) I loved my food and it loved me back.
