Playing around with home made pigments. It's a fun if a little mysterious process for me since I don't remember my chemistry lessons too well. This painting has walnut, beet, onion, and purple carrot inks. I then used charcoal to accentuate certain areas as I continued to layer the inks. #painting #MastoArt #pigment #EcoArts

They will tell you to put a pack of oil pastels in your starter pack at art college. You wonder why… for me they sat unloved except for some experimenting with life drawing and white spirits. Fast forward 20 years (yeah 20 years!) and I brought them on holidays. I hated them, liked them a bit better… then here.. I started to fall in love with my old cheap pack of oil pastels.
