My teaching has for a long time built on Critical Theory. <<Reflection becomes critical when it has two distinct purposes:
1)… to understand how considerations of power undergird, frame and distort educational processes and interactions.
And:
2)… to question … assumptions and practices that seem to make our ... lives easier but actually work against our long-term interests”>> (Brookfield 2008).
Anything can - and should - be examined critically, especiality inequities like racism. #EdDev #CRT

Sounds like you might have a good tutor? You maybe got him thinking? I am retired now but used to get similar reactions from students. Marking (imo) is - or should be - dialogic. You should def ask him for explanation. Might even result in higher marks in the future? #highered #EdDev

Might as well do a bit of an #introduction. I'm an #EdDev working at the University of Liverpool, interested in assessment/feedback, authenticity in assessment, decolonising the curriculum, curriculum design and research-led pedagogies.
I also work in #19thC fiction, literature and culture, with a specialist in crime fiction.
Give us a wave or a follow if any of this sounds interesting to you!
