Here on Mastadon I had a post about #trans inclusion get a lot of traction recently. I only had one person say something that seemed a bit transphobic-maybe. Meanwhile I’m hearing reports that in the other place Greta Thunberg suffered a GC pile on with some really nasty things said just for posting support for #EdinburghUni students protesting a transphobic film. A woman whose protests have been so impactful - supporting protesters attracting hate. Thanks to all who make Mastadon lovely.

The Edinburgh Staff-Student Solidarity Network website now has the full statement from the people who protested against the attempted screening of the film "Adult Human Female" at the university on 14 December 2022.

The statement ends by quoting Audre Lorde: "I am not free while any woman is unfree, even when her shackles are very different from my own."

Last week was special.

The Crit Care programme at #EdinburghUni awarded its first ever #MScs.

After 5 years in the making (2 years of work even before the first student logged in!) and a pandemic during lauch year we wondered if this moment would ever come.

Congratulations to all our graduating students and to all my amazing colleagues but particularly my partner in crime Graham Nimmo (second from left) who retires this year.
