At the end of the first day of #rICE2023Leiden IAE-president prof Willeke Wendrich opened a video link with #Sudan and introduced dr Ibrahim Musa of the National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums. Dr Musa spoke about the situation in wartorn Sudan and made an appeal for help from the international community to help restore peace and safeguard the country’s rich heritage. He received solemn pledges from the IAE and an encouraging applause from the nearly 1000 participants.
