I've only been a #ElectionWorker for the last two years, but have found it to be a fun and positive experience.
Just before I started, my county had switched from the big heavy Voter Rolls books to sleek, fast, light & secure PolPads.
Some older voters balk at signing in digitally, but the veteran workers all agree they're way better!
I'm looking forward to returning next year!

(Also, our county leads send us trivia ?s throughout the day& I've won treats for my fellow workers every time, lol)

Tomorrow I will spend at least 15 hours (plus total travel time of 1.5 hours) defending democracy as a poll worker (Asst Supervisor). My supplies include Diet Coke (*lots* of Diet Coke), slimfast meal bars, and those little cheese portions that remind me of the 1st year university dorm weekend food scrounge. Yay me? Shout out to everyone who keeps democracy going! #ElectionWorker

I'm a NYS #ElectionWorker so I'll be at my local site at 530 to set up before doors open, then spend the day checking voters in, handing out ballots(and stickers), and finally tearing down after polls close& going home to watch Kornacki, lol.

#MidtermElections are exactly two months away! If you've ever thought about becoming an #ElectionWorker this is a great time to sign up!

Many states have already begun scheduling training sessions for new and returning workers. (I just got my reminder letter in the mail today!)

The US Elections Assistance Commission has a handy dandy state-by-state lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more. Links are provided so you can sign up directly with your state or local election office!
