Dr. Steven Smith's "The Scientist and Engineer's Guide to Digital Signal Processing" (1999) is the most gentle introduction to #DSP I've ever read. It is written for non #ElectricalEngineers. But EE students, and even practicing PE, should read it, if for nothing else but to gain a deeper insight into Fourier-, Laplace-, and z-transforms.
