Just saw Nate Adams pushing for the manufacturers to just sell heat pumps instead of one-way AC in the North American market. I remember back when he told me that was a terrible idea, but now he seems to be taking credit for it being his idea. So typical. #ElectrifyEverything

I was at a 90th birthday celebration this afternoon, good to see a generation that looked back with pride on local jobs in engineering (firms which are mostly gone).

I was surprised to hear their view, that we had squandered the earth's resources and neglected the environment, that we need a rapid energy transition and that our political leaders are too timid or too compromised to act in time.

@CadeJohnson @davidho that’s what @kathhayhoe says. We shouldn’t turn our noses up at any potential assistance to reduce #CO2. It’s probably too late for a pure solution so she says we say yes to everything. The difference #CDR/#CCS as offered by the #fossilfuel industry and David’s position is that it will never be effective enough to offset the huge amount of #ClimatePollution. Effectively more lies from #exxonknew and tribe. We should be putting our money and effort into #ElectrifyEverything and investing in #renewableenergy as it will save a humungous more CO2 now than waiting for new technology or investing in #nuclear to be a saviour in the future.

@tobeB the issue is not the immorality of the #FossilFuel industry executives and shareholders who keep producing but that there is still a market. If they couldn’t sell the stuff it would be left in the ground. That’s why #ElectrifyEverything , #InsulateEverything, convert coal and #methane based industrial processes etc must be the priority. Till the market dries up these monsters will still supply the dirty drugs.

I see a German steel company is converting a #coal steel plant into a #greensteel plant 2027. We need a lot more.
