Mit #elk (elk.zone) fühlt sich Mastodon schon fast wie das alte Twitter an. Und mit dem #Fedifinder (fedifinder.glitch.me) sind auch die alten Kontake, denen ich dort gefolgt bin wieder da.
I've got my own little Mastodon branch with #Markdown posts support that I'm eventually planning to rollout.
However, after some days using #Elk as my daily driver, I'm feeling less the urge of implementing Markdown support on the backend.
Elk does a quite good job rendering Markdown elements in posts, regardless of what the backend does.
Do you folks use Elk, or another alternative frontend that renders Markdown posts? Or maybe Pleroma or another service that natively supports Markdown content? I'm considering whether I should really invest more time implementing this on the Mastodon backend...
I generally like #Elk as a Mastodon client, but it exhibits a frequent annoying bug where, when I click on an interface element, it pops up a keyboard shortcut guide instead.
Have you folks tried #elk? I must say that I'm quite impressed from what I'm seeing so far, even though it's still in alpha stage.
Its PWA could become my daily driver for the Fediverse once it starts adding more features - the keyboard shortcuts are already a big plus that not many clients implement.
For those interested, I'm running a test instance at https://elk.platypush.tech.
@elk's grayscale & wellness features makes a Merveillian such as I; happy & fuzzy inside 🥰

it's pretty involved.
there are easier options - not mastodon - #GoToSocial, is being developed, some features are not yet there, alpha software, slowly, but its much easier to install - just a go binary - but no front end - but there are plenty third party - like #pinafore or #elk
@elk is a wonderful Mastodon client!

I love the formatting of people's profiles.
Especially the sectioning off of the Pronoun, Website & Join date metadata.
I'm curious if a Location metadata will be sectioned off too.
You never know who you're going to run into when you step out your garage door.
