First piece I've seen yet about the #Ely #Cardiff fatal crash that acknowledges the two teenagers were riding a motorcycle without #helmets

While we don't yet know if that was a factor in this case, it is always, always best to wear the right gear when #motorcycling.

We had a good time in #Ely the last couple of days - the weather was dry, but the wind was bitter on Tuesday.
This is a #sketch of the #cathedral from the side. We couldn't justify the cost of the entry fee to go inside.

Ely has as much character as #York, but without the crowds.

What a day in #Ely
The family turned up - not as late as expected.

After a pleasant natter over tea & buns in the cathedral tea room we walked down to the river.
The wind had got up & became bitterly cold - after a shortish walk along the river bank - finding Peacock's Tea Room closed - we went to RBK for coffee & buns!

Quite typically my brother in law had forgotten where he'd parked his car!
By a process of elimination we found it more by accident than design.

Then the daughter trauma began

What are we up to #today?

This morning I'm going to find a couple of good spots to do some #sketching here in #Ely - probably by the river.
Mrs Mike will sit and read.

We're meeting family at lunchtime and mooching round the city while I get increasingly grumpy with them during the afternoon.

I will calm down this evening.

Very pleasant evening meal in the hotel here in #Ely (#Cambridgeshire) - great talking to two American travellers on their first full day in England.

Of course we got onto #politics and surprisingly we were all on the same page!

We've had a great time in #london but #today's the day we need to leave.

We're not going straight home, but to #Ely for a couple of nights, and meeting Mrs Mike's sister.

Unfortunately, my #IBS has flared up for no apparent reason - which rather took the shine off yesterday evening (sorry #Richmond - yes it was me! ) .
I'm feeling a bit yuk this morning.
