This is how #AI researchers use #Emergence and #Agency:

You are the pilot of a bomber plane , dropping a large bomb to detonate over a city. But you cannot predict which citizen will die first and which one will die last.

As a consequence, you call the detonation #emergent. In addition, you claim that the bomb decides which person to kill first and last. Therefore, the bomb has emergent agency.

OTOH, you the pilot are not responsible for the bombs actions, right?

In the #2020s, several important #mathematical #formulas and #equations had been related to #socialnetworks and #socialgraphs. Some notable ones included the Erdős–Rényi #randomgraphmodel (G(n, p)), the Watts-Strogatz #smallworld #networkmodel, and the Barabási-Albert #preferential #attachmentmodel. Not because current AI technology is about to become sentient or shit like that, rather because we are unleashing incredibly powerful tools we barely understand on everything from social networks to economic drivers – for example, stock market trading and debt management.

Leaving aside deliberately evil uses, the potential for accidental destruction of society is horrifying.
