Finished watching #EminenceInShadow today and I loved every minute of it. The way the various members of Shadow Garden had unique and fun personalities, the various background events that proved that Cid could never truly be a background character, to the amazing end fight where Shadow threatens to blow up the Capitol (He is the good guy, right?)

I kind of wish that they gave us the Shadow Garden white suits that they tease in the OP.

Started #EminenceInShadow based on recommendations, and it is amazing.

An eternal chuniibyou meets Truck-kun and ends up in a fantasy world, where he starts a band of bandit-hunters who think they are fighting a dangerous and ancient Cult of Diabolos, based on a fairy tale.

Only the Cult and the battle are very real.

The #EminenceInShadow had one of the best season finales I've ever seen.

As an adaptation, it dramatically improves the mediocre source material. I genuinely don't know how they'll adapt volume 3 to make it good, but I have faith. Volume 2 had killer material that just had serious pacing issues, so I'm not surprised it was crazy good.

The entire show moves slower than any light novel adaptation I've seen, and that's a good thing. Fast pacing killed #Danmachi and is threatening #MagiRevo, imo

Some people dont watch The Eminence in Shadow, and they miss out on exchanges like this.

Only it is all true. He’s the only one who thinks it’s an act.

It’s that little extra spice that puts it just above Bleach for me. The underlying joke is a funny through-line that keeps the plot line from being just another cheesy power fantasy (though it is that, too).

If you don’t find the joke funny, it might undercut the characters & plot too much for your enjoyment, but if you find the premise fun, like I did, it elevates an otherwise “decent” story to “Great.”

I find it funny that Crunchyroll is publishing The Eminence in Shadow game when they don't have the anime. I have to imagine they tried to get it, but Chainsaw Man probably ate a lot of their budget.
