Today is World Malaria Day, a preventable & treatable disease that however continues to have devastating impacts worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, there were more than 600000 malaria deaths
in 2021 and more than 240 million cases.

Some of the applications we work on contribute to the fight against malaria. Hoping for a near future when they won't be needed any more: #EndMalaria

But prevention & treatment are available. The 1st malaria vaccine approved in Ghana 🇬🇭 is a huge step forward to saving millions.

First #Malaria #Vaccine with High Efficacy

The long search for a gamechanger to #EndMalaria might finally be successful:
The #MalariaVaccine "R21/Matrix-M" has successfully passed phase II showing that it is safe and very immunogenic in African children. It demonstrated promising high-level efficacy as it reduced the risk of contracting the disease by 77%. The #RCT was conducted among 450 children 5-17 months in #Nanoro, #BurkinaFaso.
