Why I Think The GOP is Collapsing and Can't Prevent It.

In 1964 the Civil Rights Act caused a shift in ideology between the two major parties.

For over 100 years the Democrats had been the party of conservative Christian racists who supported American apartheid also known as Jim Crow laws.

Many Democrats switched to the Republican Party when Lindon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act. Some, like Ronald Reagan, changed parties from Democrat to Republican a few years earlier.

The Party of Lincoln was overrun by confederates fleeing the Democratic Party because they felt betrayed by Johnson and the Kennedys. The liberals had taken their party so they ran to the Republican Party.

Republican policies are not good for anyone except the 1%. The tax-cuts for the wealthy and monopiles they give to their donors mean they can get huge campaign donations but the 1% still only get one vote each at election time. To win elections, even with gerrymandering, they need a significant number of poor people to vote for them. That's where religion and racism come in. They pander to the dumbest portion of the racial majority. Broke, white, racist, religious idiots.

Right after the Civil Rights Act was signed there were a lot more broke, white, racist, religious idiots, so it was easy to find enough votes.

Now, 59 years later, they can't win a popular election at all.

So they cry election fraud and they throw tantrums and try to overthrow the elected government because they don't want to admit they pandered to the wrong group of poor people. They bet on the broke, white, racist, religious idiots when they should have bet on the union members and the liberal urban working class. They should have bet on women and people of color. They should have appealed to liberal whites.

Now The GOP has been working against everyone except the 1% and the broke, white, racist, religious idiots for so long, no one else will touch them.

Now you see Greg Abbott, Governor of Texas, saying he will pardon a broke, white, racist, religious idiot who killed a BLM protestor with premeditation.
This along with January 6th is a death-rattle for the Republicans.
It signals that they know they have no chance to win at the ballot so they need to use violence.

What it looks like 8 blocks from the Capitol Building this morning.

Yet most Republicans won't act to hold the cause accountable and far too many have resigned from their Cabinet posts to try to make us think they're not responsible.

It's despicable that our Capitol has to look like this before for the Inauguration of a fairly and freely elected President.

Nobody will ever forget who is responsible.

Special shame to all the congressional Republicans who will object to accepting the electoral college votes, especially considering that absolutely none of them truly believes what they're asserting and are willing to subvert democracy for a political advantage.
