Also, when I look for people's profile on the Mastodon App, the profiles are generally empty, but when I browse on my PC, there is a link to the person's profile on their server and I can see the complete profile, it might be one of your problem too.

A #Roman tombstone from #Chester, dedicated to a soldier named Decimus Capienius Urbicus, who died aged 44 after 24 years service in the #RomanArmy - just short of retirement! He was a standard-bearer, likely in the Legio XX Valeria Victrix (based at Chester) #EpigraphyTuesday

For #EpigraphyTuesday a poignant piece of jewellery: an inscribed gold ring found in the #Roman settlement at Aalen. The ring belonged to a child, the inscription reads CRESCAS, which translates as “may you grow”. A wish every parent still has for their kids today.

RT by @thegrugq: This Pompeian wall displays two distinct kinds of #epigraphy we'll look at for this week's #EpigraphyTuesday. At top is a bit of ad copy in a measured and dignified script, and below it is the hasty scrawl of electoral hustling, in #Pompeii as it would be in #Naples or #Rome.
