My steppie came to visit a few weeks ago and bought a beautiful little pink-flowering Schlumbergera. She didn't take it with her so I've been taking care of it. The blooms all died back a little while ago and now it turns out there's fruit! I don't know if these are self-fertilizing, but no reason not to sprout all of them just to see! They grow outside here all year round so it's not that much work to grow dozens. Maybe this always happens? This is my first one ever!

Recently I saw this little and it stood still for a while and allowed me to take pictures! According to google lens it's a cracker butterfly. I love grey and brown butterflies and moths. I tend to gravitate to monochromatic beauties. 🤎
On the same trunk there's this patch of and very small , which mastodon seems to enjoy! :ablobcatreachreverse:

Did you know young leaves are bright lime green with pink/red tips? When the leaves mature they become a much darker green with light green vertical simmetrical lines.
I think they are just gorgeous. I got myself a little one from the area near the big tree. 🌿
