Sort of unusual framing, the exobiology stuff (my favourite) is couched in a murder mystery (eh), and the prose is drab at best, but it's still somehow hitting all the right spots for me.
So far, that is. I'm 1/3 of the way through. Still a big chance the ending could ruin it. But I'm hopeful!
