We visited an Estuarine Reserve in the Pacific Coast of North America. The mudflats are huge. When the tide goes out, the whole bay is basically emptied. I had never seen something like that.. very impressive.

By the way, this Japanese mud snail, and his 15 billion* siblings hanging out in the Japanese eelgrass, say "hi".

*yes the park ranger said they estimated 15 billion mudsnails currently living in the bay. They arrived from Japan in the 1930s.

@mycorrhiza you could also try - it's also web based and let's you choose different languages to play with. There's even a version of the much loved in there called that I've found is a great way to test out that language and decide if you want to go through the somewhat tricky install process
