To be a disciple of God means you must have the discipline to follow the Lord. Getting in the Word every morning might be tough now, but it’s worth it eternally.

When you're a slave, you do things out of obligation, but when you're a son, you do things out of vision and purpose (John 8:14, 35).

God welcomes you to come as you are, but you can’t stay the same (Rom 12:2). He will change the desires of your heart, if you allow Him. Through the deeper understanding of the Word, you become transformed and your character begins to change into the character of God (Col 3:10).

Jesus never did anything without the Father (Jn 5:19) and we, His children are to walk in those same footsteps. When we wake up in the morning and see our reflection in the mirror, does our character line up with the Fathers? Do others see the Lord's characteristics in us?

God works in patterns and 2,000 years ago Jesus was the in person example the disciples had to follow. Tracing back God's patterns in scripture, He always sends an anointed one to lead His people. Are those chosen leaders still here? Being our God is eternally changeless (Heb 13:8) yes, they're here!

These feasts were appointed times, set by God for His people, to observe and celebrate. The word ‘convocation’ means a public meeting, but it also speaks of a rehearsal.

Now, a rehearsal according to Merriam Webster's dictionary, can mean something recounted or told again; RECITAL. So it can speak of an event being narrated and told as a story; a private performance or practice session preparatory to a public appearance.

This means that the feasts or the festivals, are not only given to God’s people to remember events that took place in history, but they are to point to something that is coming. So, if a feast is a rehearsal, it must mean these feast days that are being celebrated are really to prepare and point people to something that is coming.

Light Day One

On the fourth day God created the sun, moon, and stars (Gen 1:14-16). So, what was the light God created on day one (Gen 1:3)?

When we look at the word for “light,” used in the Old Testament, it speaks of order. The BDB dictionary defines the word as: “light of instruction,” or “light of life.”
Light is what helps us see clearly, otherwise our eyes would be blinded.

The light in the beginning was the WORD (ref Jn 1:1). God created everything in His order/Law. The sun rising each day paints a picture of us seeing the deeper understanding of who God is (ref 1 Pe 1:19).

What is the deeper meaning of life in Hebraic thought?

The word life in Hebrew is the word ‘chay’. While it does refer to a living being, like a person or animal, the Ancient Hebrew Lexicon Bible takes it further, referring to the stomach as life:
When the stomach is empty one is famished and weak and when it is filled one is revived. This organ is seen as the life as an empty stomach is like death but a revived stomach is life.

Jesus, refers to Himself as the bread of life, saying that if we feed on Him we will live forever (John 6:35, 6:51). Jesus doesn’t want us to physically eat Him; He says that bread is the flesh and Jesus is the word made flesh (John 1:1-14).

When we eat/take in the word of God, it revives us and gives us spiritual life!
