My 11 year old son is teaching himself C++ and his current puzzle required him to complete in a single operation. While he knew he needed to return the “remainder” he had never heard of the modulo (%) operator.

I love eureka moments. This one lesson helped him see how to simply many of the challenges he has already completed. Rather than doing: numerator - (denominator (numerator / denominator)) he could simply do: numerator % denominator.
