One of the highlights of a trip on board #EuroCity train #Emona, next to the wonderful scenery, is the @diningcar of the Slovenian Railways, running between #Vienna 🇦🇹 and #Ljubljana 🇸🇮, serving meals cooked on board and freshly brewed coffee, in a very nice setting. ☕️🥐🍳

Among the European railway classics: #EuroCity 151 #Emona from #Vienna 🇦🇹 to #Ljubljana 🇸🇮 and #Trieste 🇮🇹. This train includes Austrian and Slovenian cars and runs over the #Unesco world heritage #Semmering route.

The #Klagenfurt 🇦🇹 to #Dortmund 🇩🇪 #DB #ÖBB #EuroCity 114 comes with a #Bordbistro (today with a limited choice of snacks/drinks though). As a bonus, this @diningcar has got a few opening windows, allowing to fully enjoy the scenic ride as we climb the southern ramp of the #Tauernbahn line.

On board #ÖBB #DB #EuroCity 114 “Wörthersee” northbound to #Salzburg 🇦🇹 earlier today. This is a push-pull operation with a #DB 🇩🇪 class 101 electric at the rear. One of the 1st class carriages is a former #TransEuropExpress car from the 1960s, rebuilt several times since, yet still keeping some of its original design features. A cosy atmosphere in the compartment with its comfy seats!

#SwissExpress🇨🇭 liveried #SBB Re 4/4 II electric #11108 is seen here at #Zurich main station in April 2006, ready to work an afternoon #EuroCity train bound for #Salzburg 🇦🇹. At Buchs (SG) an ÖBB loco will take over. Because of the layer of “cream” paint this locomotive is nicknamed #Cremeschnitte by railfans.

This is #Eurocity-service №143 "Transylvania" from #Vienna🇦🇹 towards #Budapest🇭🇺 and further to #ClujNapoca🇷🇴 and #BaiaMare🇷🇴. We went for a delicious freshly made Ham&Eggs🍳 & a HotDog🌭 with pickles at the MÁV restaurant car 😋!

A #ČD 🇨🇿 České dráhy type WRm 813 #JLV @diningcar with #FensterAuf opening windows seen at #Wien 🇦🇹 Meidling. This train is, most likely, #EuroCity 77 “Antonín Dvořák” on its way from #Prague to Wiener Neustadt.

🇵🇱🇨🇿🇦🇹 This is a beautiful international long distance train 😍👍! #Eurocity-service №105 "Porta Moravica" arriving from #Przemyśl🇵🇱 right on the Ukrainian🇺🇦 border and leaving #Vienna🇦🇹 for its final leg to #Graz🇦🇹! The wonderful #ÖBB🇦🇹 #diningcar is visible due to the cosy table lamps🛋️!

As #European 🇪🇺 as it gets: an #SNCB/#NMBS @diningcar on a #EuroCity train from #Brussels 🇧🇪 to #Switzerland🇨🇭 via #Luxembourg 🇱🇺 and #Strasbourg 🇫🇷. The car on the picture - taken in the early 2000s - is the “Memling Bistro”, originally deployed on services to #Germany 🇩🇪.

The last leg of today’s journey: the #DB 🇩🇪 #Eurocity for #Klagenfurt 🇦🇹. There is no @diningcar operating. The carriage is well part of the consist yet there is only a trolley service available. The choice is limited: Vollkornstulle Gouda-Gurke is the only option for dinner 😬.
