Only one election on the calendar this week. Westminster, #Colorado is holding a #RecallElection for Westminster City Councillor Voelz

I've seen quite a few recall elections lately, make sure you know the issues at the heart of the recall! From water rates and infrastructure management to mask mandates and pandemic emergency orders, from aiding insurrectionists to alleged abuses of power.

These recalls matter. Some are justified, some are frivolous wastes of taxpayers money. It's up to YOU to decide in these recall elections. Are the people elected to work for the will and interest of the people in your community doing their job or pursuing their own agendas?

This is one of the reasons I've started posting about local elections.
'Oh it's just a district court judge or a mayor, or city council rep, no big deal'

But it is. These lower courts and councils are where the groundwork is laid and judges move up the ladder.
RBG didn't just walk off the street &get her seat on the bench, neither did Roberts.
If we want a Supreme Court that upholds democracy, we have to keep voting and remind others that #EveryElectionMatters

I forgot to mention last week in regards to Pennsylvania's #PrimaryElections and #SpecialElections that Democrats won our race in PA's 22nd State Senate District on Tuesday. I phonebanked for Marty Flynn a number of times so it was particularly satisfying to see him win.

As I see it, there is one way out of the mess we're in, the same strategy we've used and that's worked for us: treating every single race a Democrat is running in like it's a vital election, because each one is. If we can keep matching that level of enthusiasm, engagement, and turnout--up and down the ballot, we are going to be OK. And better than OK. But we have to do the work and turn up and turn voters out.

Let's keep asking ourselves "which election am I helping with right now?"
