I’m drinking my hazy IPA Catpunk, that has hops inspired by Brewdog’s Punk IPA. it has five different hops, Simcoe, Nelson Sauvin, Cascade, Amarillo, and Nugget. The last one I used as a replacement for Chinook and Ahtahnum that was unavailable when I brewed it this time. It came sixth in it’s category at the homebrew meetup last weekend.
I’m back home after the homebrew championship. People seemed to like both beers, especially the hazy IPA which ran out before the voting ended.
My table is setup, the beer is flowing. Now I have 75 minutes to try out other beers before the visitors arrive.
I have an Irish red ale and a New England IPA that’s dry-hopped twice and has hops in the keg.
I’m in the back right corner with the numbers 195 and 196.
I’ve finished setting up my table at the Swedish national homebrew championship. So tomorrow I can just show up and start serving my beer.
I think I’m ready for the Swedish homebrew championship on Saturday. I’ve kegged the beers I’m bringing with me, and cleaned everything. Now I’m just waiting for the beer to carbonate.
Now I need to keg the second beer I’m going to bring with me to the Swedish national homebrew championship on Saturday. And clean the beer cooler and a picnic tap.
I’ve kegged my Irish red ale. It’s yet another low alcohol beer from the British isles. This used to be my favorite beer a long time ago, but I’ve hardly had it for a long time. I hope it still holds up.
I just bottled the last of two beers, an imperial stout with saffron, and an Irish pale ale. I also bottled some of my best bitter and sour ale. I think I might be bringing some of those with me to share at the homebrew championship. But now I ran out of co2, so I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to bottle some more.
First taste of my new hazy IPA Pop Cat. It looks great, with a light haze. But the aroma and flavor is a bit underwhelming. I can’t recommend using only the Cryo Pop blend from Yakima Chief. I could see it as an addition to a beer with Mosaic or Simcoe though. I also accidentally used the Lalbrew Verdant yeast instead of London Fog. Still, it’s a really good beer!
Today’s brew day went a lot better than last week. 25 liters of hazy IPA is in the fermenter, the brew vessel is cleaned, and I’ve already made dinner.
Going by train and bus to the “local” homebrew shop took ages. But now I’ve handed in four beers to the beer judge competition for the Swedish national homebrew competition. Luckily I met a friend there who gave me a ride back home.
The brew day today was rough. Lots of things went wrong. I only just finished cleaning the brew system. But there is finally 25 liters of Irish red ale in the fermenter.
Drinking a homebrewed Boddington clone.
I found a bottle of my beer Bellman’s Skeppsmumma in a cupboard at work. I thought I shared the last bottle last year at a homebrew meetup. I’m taking this home to share at the Swedish national homebrew championship. It’s a braunschweiger mumme boiled for over five hours without hops, with spices added to ther fermenter.
I just kegged 26 liters of a hazy session IPA. It smells fantastic, lots of stone fruit. Can’t wait to try it out once it’s finished carbonating. With this beer I’ll have four fresh beers on tap, I just need to fix the leaking tap.
I was planning on brewing a lager with the LalBrew NovaLager yeast next weekend. But I forgot to add to the last order, and it doesn’t look like they have at any local homebrew shops. Guess I’ll have to brew an Irish red ale instead, which is next in the queue.
I brewed a new hazy IPA today, and used the yeast from the last brew. I also kegged an English best bitter. It’s currently being carbonated, can’t wait to try it.
I just mashed in for the first brew in my new Brewzilla gen 4 brew system. It seems pretty good so far. It’s so much easier to use than my old brew system. The web/app interface is a bit buggy though, and looks kinda bad, but they are working on it. Today I’m brewing a hazy IPA with leftover hops I have in the freezer.
Running a cleaning program on my new Brewzilla gen 4 brew system. Now I need to calibrate it, and test the amount of boil off and volumes.
I just ran out of my hazy IPA Cat Punk. That beer didn’t last long. And I haven’t even started to brew a new one. It was so good. I will probably brew it again soon.
